The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Practice Program is a focused, hands-on learning experience designed for nurse practitioners who want greater confidence and real-world preparation for primary care practice. 

 

Hosted within You Matter Primary Care, LLC, participants gain practical exposure to the day-to-day realities of outpatient primary care-from clinical decision making and patient management to workflow, documentation, referrals, insurance processes, and practice operations. A key feature of the program is the clinic's one-hour appointment model which provides more meaningful clinical learning that includes time to observe clinical reasoning, ask questions, review cases, and better understand the full patient-care process.

The NP Practice Program is founded and led by Brenda Herrera, FNP-BC, an experienced primary care nurse practitioner and is the founder of You Matter Primary Care, LLC , open since June 2022. With more than a decade of primary care experience, Brenda has served as a nurse practitioner preceptor since 2017, mentoring students from multiple universities, including Georgetown University, her alma mater. Her teaching approach is grounded in practical, real-world primary care experience and individualized guidance in a non-rushed environment. 

 

To maintain a personalized learning environment, each monthly cohort is limited to a maximum of two Nurse Practitioners.

• NPs interested in opening their own primary care clinic
